Karitāne Māori Tours
A new tourism venture is being launched by Kati Huirapa Runaka ki Puketeraki to make accessible to manuhiri / tourists, experiences based on our culture & te ao tūroa. We have a vision of a Karitāne based tourism venture that connects & engages with the story of the Waikouaiti River and its surrounding area. The vision will be presented through the eyes of Kati Huirapa whānau with our values and whakapapa underpinning the experiences.
We need an amazing self-starter, with great organisational skills & financial acumen to get this new venture on its feet (or perhaps on the waka in this case). If you’ve worked in the tourism industry that would be a huge benefit as you’ll understand the pressure of providing manaakitaka in sometimes trying circumstances but the necessity of doing that consistently.
Are you great at building relationships with people and organisations, are you familiar with managing social media platforms and do you have a firm base in your own Māori culture?
We’d love to hear from you if you think this challenge is one that you’ve got the background & experiences for. Applications for this full time position close on Wednesday 28 February.
